Apini’s guide to Monaco: 24hrs with your little one

Welcome to Monaco, the home of the Grand Prix, maritime glamour and of course Apini! Monaco is full of hidden treasures just waiting to be discovered, so swap those casino chips for cacti and have some fun in the sun with your family! Here’s our ultimate guide to the best places to eat, see and visit with your little one.

Start your day off perfectly by heading down to Eqvita. From buckwheat pancakes to avocado toast to guilt-free brownies, everything tastes so delicious yet its healthiness is ingeniously disguised! But if you're in a rush to get the sand in-between your toes, cafe Valentin serves up fresh coffee and pastries every day, perfect for on-the-go adventures.

As grand inside as it out, the Oceanographic Museum is home to hundreds of little, and big, gems from the sea. From an open-air island devoted to turtles and tortoises, to a 90ft whale skeleton, which if alive could swallow Monaco whole. There are surprises around every corner!

With a short walk from the museum, you’ll soon come across Jardin Exotique. This extraordinary botanical garden is an essential spot for any avid explorer. Here you’ll find thousands of succulents, which most famously includes towering cacti. Your ticket also grants you access into depths of the cliffs caves where you’ll stumble across prehistoric remains.

If you fancy a light bit of shopping, the glamorous Monte-Carlo Pavilions holds all the leading labels from Hilfiger to Miu Miu. Or for a true Monegasque experience head over to the Monte-Carlo Market where you’ll be instantly hit with aromas of freshly baked bread, indulgent cheeses and hand-picked fruits, perfect for a beach picnic.

The water is always warm at Larvotto beach but the best time to visit is during the afternoon when the sun is just about to set, making a breathtaking backdrop for some Apini Instagram photos! With the water so clear, you will be able to see an abundance of marine life so be sure to pick up your little ones swimsuit, snorkel and an underwater camera.

For a true taste of the Mediterranean, La Vigie serves up a Michelin star celebration of local fish delicacies from caviar blinis to our personal favourite, pearl oysters. Located on the Monte-Carlo beach, you can enjoy a table with a picturesque view whilst letting the children stroll up and down the promenade.
